The City of Ipswich is striving to be recognised as a connected and informed local business community with access to ever-increasing opportunity and potential.
Council acknowledges to be a leader of social and economic prosperity and opportunity in South East Queensland, it needs to build stronger networks and utilise technological advances to connect.
On the 8 May 2018, the Ipswich Chamber of Commerce & Industry launched a business profiling activity as part of the Queensland Government’s Advancing Regional Innovation Program (ARIP).
ARIP is coordinated at a regional level by council, which in turn partners with local stakeholders to collaboratively leverage ideas, develop and test innovative solutions to help strengthen business capability.
To ensure the ARIP program delivers the most effective, value-for-money and sustainable outcomes for business, council is working with all key stakeholders to review current and future ARIP activities and the program’s governance.
As a result, this process has seen a number of ARIP programs discontinued, including the chamber’s business profiling program – as mutually agreed by both parties.
Ipswich City Council acknowledges the proactive work the Ipswich Chamber of Commerce & Industry has taken on behalf of its members and the broader business community in developing its ARIP program.
Council thanks the chamber for its ongoing contribution to local businesses and apologises for any inconvenience to program participants.
ARIP continues to be a high priority to Ipswich and as such council will continue to work with all key stakeholders in the development of its innovation strategy moving forward.
Council looks forward to working with the Ipswich Chamber of Commerce & Industry to unlock business potential and strengthen our engagement across the business community.
