Blue Mountains City Council and the Stronger Families Alliance are conducting a Resilience and Wellbeing Survey in the Blue Mountains to assess how resilient our community is.
The survey asks Blue Mountains residents how they feel about their life and the community they live in. It is part of a larger body of work the Stronger Families Alliance is conducting that includes consultations on safety and resilience.
Mayor, Cr Mark Greenhill, said: “Research like this helps governments and community organisations promote healthy, resilient and engaged communities.
The results will provide a baseline of local information that will better prepare us for the future”.
The information collected will help Council, the Stronger Families Alliance and its members build action plans, infrastructure, funding and develop policy for the Blue Mountains.
It will also identify where pockets of vulnerability are across the ages and locations.
The survey was promoted as part of Mental Health Month at the launch of the Blue Fringe Arts festival recently. The event, which has been running for 26 years, continues to celebrate the creativity of people who have experienced mental illness.
The Resilience and Wellbeing Survey is available online until the end of November at www.bluemountainshaveyoursay.com.au/resilience-and-wellbeing or in person at Blue Mountains City Council.
