Council provides a range of support as well as Grants each year to new and existing events that can demonstrate positive and beneficial outcomes for our community and/or economic benefits derived from the attraction of tourists. These Grants are not meant to entirely fund the activity, nor do they position Council as ultimately responsible for the success or failure of the proposed event. The Grants are provided as seed funding to help establish events, which are in fact a small business and as such can be significant economic drivers for Ballarat. Ultimately, however, the success of any event to attract suitable numbers of ticket paying customers is the responsibility of the event organisers.

Council has not been notified of any issue at this point in time. A meeting with the event organiser has been arranged.

BOAA is an incorporated entity with a full and independent Board of Management and we trust they will do everything in their power to fully acquit the event and ensure all payments are made.
