The 2018 series of Councillors’ Cuppas, taking Armidale Regional Council’s elected members to centres throughout the region, will wrap up for the year with a forum in Ebor this Sunday.

The new initiative has included information sessions in many centres in 2018: Wollomombi, Tingha, Hillgrove, Boorolong and Ben Lomond.

This weekend’s event will be held at Ebor Public School at 4pm-5.30pm.

Ebor Local Area Committee Chair Shantel Brauer said management of traffic speed for vehicles passing through the village and maintenance of public spaces were likely to be two leading issues at the forum.

Armidale Regional Council Mayor Simon Murray said: “The Cuppas are a fantastic, informal setting for members of the community to get to know the councillors and raise issues that are important to residents.”

Each Councillors’ Cuppa includes a free barbecue by Council.

Councillor Murray said there had been some great conversations at each of the Cuppas held so far, identifying priorities for the host centres.

“Residents can raise issues as a group or there is opportunity to speak one-on-on with councillors or senior staff, over a cuppa and a bite to eat,” he said.

“We’re looking forward to getting out to other centres in the first half of 2019.”
