The Wendouree community will gather to celebrate its revamped local asset – the Montgomery Street Recreation Reserve - at a special event tomorrow.
The community has been working with the City of Ballarat to improve this much-loved community asset in a bid to create a space that the entire community can enjoy.
Revitalisation works include:
Installation of post and rail fencing around the reserve’s perimeter A new drinking fountain and an extra rubbish bin Improvements to the path network, addressing issues of poor drainage New park signs New football goal posts Removing, replacing and tidying trees and vegetation A new shelter (construction underway) and park seating (to come).The initiative is one of a number community-led projects being delivered in Ballarat as part of the City of Ballarat’s Engaging Communities Program.
