Council adopts 2017-18 Annual Report

‘A council’s annual report is like a viewing window into our place of work,’ says Central Highlands’ Mayor Kerry Hayes.

‘When you receive your rates notice and wonder what exactly we do with that money, the first port of call should be our annual report,’ he said.

‘Council recently adopted the 2017-18 Annual Report, which is 174 pages of, not only facts and figures, but stories behind what we’ve achieved during the year, what our challenges were and how we overcame them, and what we expect for the coming year.

‘We really value our annual report because it condenses all our services and projects into one, easy-to-read volume that provides a historical account of the organisation, and is also useful for prospective employees, investors and anyone with an interest in our community.

‘If you are daunted at the prospect of navigating the financial statements, then we have a brief, plain English community financial report included that gives a general overview of our income and expenditure,’ the mayor said.

‘The report is punctuated with many vibrant images of people and activities that made the last 12 months special.’

The annual report is published on council’s website www.centralhighlands.qld.gov.au
