Community invited to join Mayoral Breakfast for White Ribbon Day

The Mayor, Cr Mark Greenhill invites the local community to join him and take a public stand against domestic violence against women at the Mayoral Breakfast on Friday 23 November.
“The purpose of this breakfast is to raise awareness about the prevalence of violence against women, in our community and beyond, and to inspire men to take action to help stop violence against women”, said the Mayor.
“We need to come together with a strong voice to say that we do not accept violence and abuse against women and children.”
2018 is the 27th anniversary of White Ribbon Day a world-wide movement to end violence against women and girls and to promote gender equity and healthy relationships.
“It is important that men do not tolerate violence against women”, said the Mayor. “It is men’s wives, partners, mothers, sisters, daughters and friends whose lives are affected by violence and abuse.”
The Mayor's White Ribbon Day Breakfast will be held between 7:30am to 9:30am on Friday 23 November at the Blue Mountains Cultural Centre in Katoomba.
This event is held as a partnership with Blue Mountains City Council and the Blue Mountains Coalition Against Violence and Abuse (CAVA).
