North Sydney Council is calling for applications from local, not-for-profit organisations who provide food assistance and meals to those most in need in our local community, ie. free meals to homeless people, people needing emergency assistance, or people who are financially in need in North Sydney.
Special emphasis is given to activities which address problems of social inequity.
Closing date for applications is Friday 7 December, 2018.

Church by the Bridge
Healthy community lunches once per month to residents of Greenway apartments as well as a special Christmas Eve lunch for Greenway residents.
The Kirribilli Centre
Free weekly lunch for disadvantaged and socially isolated members of our community. The community lunch provides a safe, welcoming space where people from all backgrounds in our community can come together and build relationships. A community Christmas lunch is also provided.
Crows Nest Centre
Supplies festive hampers to older people and people with a disability, most of whom live alone. To achieve this we work in partnership with local schools and churches to gather festive food items for distribution. A willing band of volunteers then assists us to sort, allocate and package festive hampers. The aim is to share the Christmas spirit with people who are often on their own over the Christmas/new year period.
Society of St Vincent de Paul
Vinnies at Crows Nest provides supermarket gift cards to those in need of food and essentials.
Taldumande Youth Services
Young people at Taldumande may not be able to spend Christmas with their families, so Taldumande provides a special Christmas celebration BBQ and all the young people receive a Christmas Hamper.
Phoenix House Youth Services
Friday lunches are provided to young people who are living out of home and are without family support. Friday Lunch program provides a nutritious home cooked meal and helps the young people connect with resources.
Hare Krishna Food for Life Program (North Sydney)
Free evening meal provided every night to anyone who needs a nutritious meal of rice, lentils, vegetables and dessert.
