Now in its ninth year, Lithgow Library’s Summer Reading Club is back! Sign up at any branch Library to join in the fun.

Australian Summer Reading Club is an annual program that supports continued development of multi-literacy skills in children and young people, including reading, writing, creative arts and multimedia technology skills during the summer months.

Reading is an essential skill for everyone and is the vital foundation of a child’s learning and engagement in their school years and for life. Libraries are not only invested in supporting the development of early literacy skills of children from birth, they are also keen advocates of sustaining literacy and promoting the importance of recreational reading across all ages, particularly during the summer months. This is why the Summer Reading Club program is a free public program offered online and in libraries across Australia.

Lithgow Library is once again inviting all kids to join the SRC. Sign up at any branch to receive your free activity booklet, read 10 or more books over the summer and return your reading list to go into the draw to win our major prize! The summer reading club runs from 1 December 2018 until 31 January 2019, reading lists must be returned to Lithgow Library by 5pm 31 January 2019 to be eligible for the prize draw.
