Was Council aware of the exercise? Was anyone from Council officially involved? No-one was officially involved from Council and Council was unaware of the exercise being carried out at ACU.

Were parking officers asked to specifically check the area around ACU/the hospital precinct during the exercise? No, they were not.

Was any consideration given to the fact that the event involved volunteers and emergency services, including SES volunteers? No, as Council was unaware of the event taking place.

What are the requirements for exemptions from parking restrictions for events like this? Is there a way to apply? There are no formal mechanisms in place to apply for exemptions from parking restrictions. However council, if advised in relation to significant community events, will take this into account to our enforcement regime within the immediate area.

Will council consider rescinding the fines based on the fact people were volunteering for the exercise? Council considers any appeal on merit.
