Residents in some parts of north west Queensland have breathed a sigh of relief as they received rainfall on Wednesday, November 21.
Duty forecaster from the Bureau of Meteorology Adam Woods said as of 9am on Thursday, November 22 Boulia had received 3.4mm, while Julia Creek had recorded 41mm.
Mr Woods said parts of the region could see some more rain today, as a trough moves north east and brings cooler temperatures.
On Thursday, Mount Isa was predicted to reach a high of 30 degrees, which is six degrees below the average temperature for the month of November.
“This is due to the cloud cover and wind direction which resulted cooler conditions to the area,” Mr Woods said.
Mr Woods said the weather was expected to warm up from Friday onwards and Sunday was set to top 41 degrees in Mount Isa.
