The Shire of Capel and the Capel Land Conservation District Committee have had a 25-year partnership in helping protect the local natural environment.
To ensure this ongoing partnership meets financial and project planning accountability standards, the LCDC initiated a formal MOU process with the Shire, which was signed on Tuesday 20 November 2018.
Over the years the financial support provided to the LCDC has assisted them to gain matching external funding and to implement important projects such as fencing of reserves, weed control, and feral animal control incentives to private landholders.
Shire of Capel staff and councillors are looking forward to working with the LCDC on future projects to help retain and enhance the precious natural environment.
