Local artists celebrated at Art Awards
City of Bayswater 22 Nov 2018

The winners of the City of Bayswater's 2018 Art Awards were announced at a presentation evening on Sunday 18 November. The works are available to view and purchase at an exhibition at The RISE in Maylands until Saturday 1 December.

Mayor Dan Bull said it was important to recognise the value of arts and culture.

"The talent that exists around Perth's inner east is truly outstanding and this has been well represented in this year's Art Awards.

"The City is very happy to support emerging artists - we believe that art is an important part of the rich tapestry that makes Bayswater an interesting and exciting place to live and visit.

"We received a record 180 entries this year, with works in a variety of mediums including oil, acrylic, printmaking, photography and sculpture. "It takes an incredibly hard-working group of people to pull together important event for the community to enjoy each year. I would particularly like to thank members of the Bayswater Art Society and the Ellis House Community Arts Centre who volunteered to oversee the exhibition."
