The City of Ballarat has welcomed the recent Coalition announcement of $1 million to upgrade learning facilities at the Alfredton Primary School if elected in the November 24 poll.

Ballarat Mayor Cr Samantha McIntosh said the investment would bring significant benefits to both Alfredton and the Ballarat West communities, which are rapidly growing suburbs.

“It is extremely important our youngest residents get the best possible education and we welcome any funding for school upgrades in this region,” Cr McIntosh said.

“Alfredton Primary School is one of the larger schools in our municipality and it would greatly benefit from any funding allocated to its upgrade.”
