The City of Ballarat has welcomed today’s ALP announcement of $6.5 million for a new gymnasium and updated facilities at Delacombe Primary School if it is re-elected in tomorrow’s State Election.

Ballarat Mayor Cr Samantha McIntosh said the funding would be fantastic news for the growing school and its community.

“An upgraded gymnasium would greatly benefit the physical health of the students and other users from the whole community, as it can also be used for indoor sporting competitions,” Cr McIntosh said.

“Delacombe Primary School is another educational facility that is growing very rapidly and this announcement would benefit the school both facility-wise and financially as it would no longer need to hire other facilities to help cope with its growth.”
