Residents and visitors to Queenscliff and Point Lonsdale are reminded that summer timeshare restrictions for dogs on beaches will apply from Sunday 15 December 2018.

During the busy summer period, the amount of people using local beaches increases substantially. To provide fair and safe access for people and their pets, Council has introduced restrictions that allow dogs to be walked on the lead on beaches in the Borough of Queenscliffe between 8:00pm and 9:00am from 15 December until 1 March each year.

The summer timeshare restrictions keep the beaches dog-free during the day when more people visit the beach.

Dogs are permitted off the lead on the Narrows Beach, also known as the Dog Beach, at all hours of the day throughout the year, but must be under effective voice control and must always be on the lead in beach car parks and on beach access tracks.

Bright orange time restriction signs have been installed on pathways and at the entrances to all main beach access points in Queenscliff and Point Lonsdale, to keep members of the public informed about the summer timeshare restrictions.

Visit Council’s Pets and Animals webpage, www.queenscliffe.vic.gov.au/community/pets-and-animals, for more information about locations of dog-friendly areas within the Borough of Queenscliffe.
