Make Your Own Luck at Our Newest Exhibition
Bayside City Council 23 Nov 2018

As part of our newest Bayside Gallery exhibition, Lucky Charm, visitors are encouraged to unleash their creativity and make your own ‘wish’ charm.

Lucky charms have been found across many different cultures and religions throughout history.

Eight contemporary artists have come together to explore the intangible and irrational magic that gives these objects their perceived power.

As the artists come from different cultural backgrounds and work across a range of creative mediums (including sculpture, textiles, jewellery, paper, ceramics and leather), this exhibition is a deeply personal expression of what a lucky charm means to them.

Now, visitors can put into art form their own interpretation of a lucky charm. The charms made by visitors will be displayed on a painted ‘wishing tree’ as part of the exhibition.

You can also get help from our artists, Vipoo Srivilasa and Sai-Wai Foo, as part of a series of exclusive workshops for kids, teens and adults.
