Join us today at 11:30am as we launch our brand new, state of the art St Clair Recreation Centre.
Mayor Angela Evans will be joined by the Premier of South Australia Steven Marshall in officially opening the $22million centre.
The brand new six court basketball stadium includes a dedicated indoor roller skating rink, indoor function space, café, gym and our Charles Sturt immunisation clinic.
The City of Charles Sturt funded $11million of the works through our Long Term Financial Plan, and welcomed a $7.5million funding contribution from the Office of Recreation and Sport and a $4million funding contribution from the Department of Education.
"This state of the art facility provides a world class indoor recreation facility and next year will also include our regional outdoor play space, future proofing the recreation needs for the western suburbs," Mayor Evans said.
"We are committed to building today for the city of tomorrow, and I am excited to open the centre with Premier Marshall today."
Launch events include appearances by the Adelaide 36ers, the Adelaide Thunderbirds, the AFLW Crows, the Port Adelaide Football Club, and activities run by Volleyball SA, Tennis SA, Basketball SA, Ready Set Go, the YMCA as well as facepainting, balloon animal creation, a sausage sizzle and more.
