Join the official lighting of the giant Christmas tree at Mawson Place on Constitution Dock on Friday 30 November from 7 pm.
The tree will light up at 8.30 pm to celebrate the beginning of the festive season and will be lit for every evening until the New Year.
The free family friendly event will have free activities, food trucks selling Christmas treats and entertainment throughout the evening. Carols will be performed by The Friends School choir and the TSO brass quartet, as well as an appearance by Santa Claus himself!
The City of Hobart invites the public to donate to Variety the Children’s Charity at the event, and will match every donation made (up to $1000).
Street closure
Please be aware that Morrison Street (from Elizabeth Street) and Argyle Street (up to Davey Street) will be closed to cars for this event.
Parking
The best parking on the night will be located at Argyle Street which is open until 10 pm. There is also the Dunn Street car park outside TMAG, Market Place car park is open 24 hours and Macquarie Point also offers late night parking.
