Have your say on Emerald playground upgrades

Posted on November 27, 2018

People are invited to have their say on proposed upgrades to Vicki Peters and Lions Park playgrounds in Emerald.

Central Highlands Regional Council launched a feedback campaign this week via the online engagement tool “Have your say” and will hold two face-to-face consultations in December.

Central Highlands Regional Council Mayor Kerry Hayes said the parks are a popular spot for recreational family time and council wants to ensure that new equipment suits people’s needs.

‘Council has received concept plans for equipment upgrades for both playgrounds and now wants to hear what equipment people that use the parks would like to see installed,’ he said.

‘The upgrades are part of council’s capital project budget with an allocation of $145,000 for Lions Park and $195,000 for Vicki Peters Park.

These projects are part of council’s recreation and open space plan that will contribute to the development of well-planned open spaces, sport and recreation facilities for the region to 2031,’ the mayor said.

Public information sessions will be held at the following times:

Vicki Peters Park, Rifle Range Road, Emerald

Date: Wednesday 5 December 2018

Time: 5.15 pm

Lions Park, Cnr Yamala and Ruby Street, Emerald

Date: Thursday 6 December 2018

Time: 5.15 pm

RSVP is not required. Concept plans are available to download at council’s online engagement hub and feedback can also be given online here.
