We have installed a new bike repair station on the Bay Trail to help keep cyclists moving.
The new station, adjacent to the Southey Street toilet, opposite 152 Beach Road, in Sandringham, features a bike pump and basic tools to do minor repairs and adjustments. There is also a nearby water fountain to fill your drink bottle and an overflow bowl for your four legged friends.
This initiative aligns with the 2018/19 Active Transport Facility Improvement Program, the Bayside Integrated Transport Strategy and Council’s desire for Bayside residents to live an active and healthy lifestyle. We are encouraging residents to walk or cycle more and avoid short trips in the car to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
A second bike repair station is planned for installation at the Middle Brighton Baths in the first half of 2019.
