Lord Mayor and bikers getting ready for the Bikers Toy Run on Saturday
Are you ready to welcome hundreds of motorbike riders as they make their way through the Crown Street Mall as part of the annual Bikers Toy Run?
On Saturday 1 December, the lower Crown Street Mall will be a hive of activity from 10.30am with a jumping castle, free face painting and live entertainment on the Mall stage. At 11am we’ll greet the motorbike riders as they come into the Mall and drop off their donations to the City of Wollongong Giving Tree.
“The Bikers Toy Run has become a holiday tradition for our City that’s lots of fun for both children and adults alike,” Wollongong City Lord Mayor Councillor Gordon Bradbery AM said.
“This year is the 29th anniversary of the Bikers Toy Run and this event is a vital part of our annual City of Wollongong Giving Tree appeal. This appeal supports local charities; St Vincent de Paul, Anglicare and SCARF as they make sure that Christmas is a special day for everyone.
“I’d encourage everyone to think about making a donation to the Giving Tree Appeal as they’re out and about purchasing presents for family, friends and loved ones.
“There is something special about bringing along an unwrapped present or gift card for a child up to the age of 16 and putting it under the tree. You’ll know, come Christmas morning, you’ve done something to make someone in need’s festivities that much brighter and more special.”
