With summer just around the corner, residents can prepare to splash into Baw Baw Shire Council’s seasonal outdoor swimming pools.
Seasonal pools in Drouin, Neerim South, Rawson, Thorpdale and Trafalgar will be open to the community from 1 December 2018 to 31 March 2019.
The outdoor pool at the Warragul Leisure Centre features an extended open season from 1 November 2018 to 30 April 2019 due to its temperature control functionality.
All seasonal pools are managed by the YMCA on behalf of Council and are open when the temperature is forecast to reach or exceed 25 degrees Celsius, except Rawson and Warragul which are not weather dependent.
Open days are planned one week in advance, and revised daily, using the Warragul forecast data provided by the Bureau of Meteorology. Pools may close prior to or during thunderstorm activity or in extreme weather conditions. All pools will be closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
