Burdekin LDMG monitoring severe fire risk

The Burdekin Shire Council Local Disaster Management Group is currently monitoring the severe fire risk.

The Burdekin LDMG is in contact with the Townsville District Disaster Management Group and  the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services in regards to the current  fire conditions.

In accordance with the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services Act 1990 and with due regard to the fire conditions and weather forecasts of the Bureau of Meteorology, a prohibition on lighting fires in the open applies from now until 30 November 2018 for the Burdekin and surrounding regions.

The Burdekin LDMG encourages the Community to be vigil and help prevent any unnecessary fires that may impact the safety of our community and surrounding regions.
