Spring into Bayside winners
Bayside City Council 29 Nov 2018

Drumroll please... The winners of our #springintobayside Instagram competition have been announced.

Tom Pascoe has taken out the top award of this year’s contest for his incredible drone shot taken above the cliffs at Red Bluff Beach. This unique shot of Bayside’s coastline also took the prize  for the Beach and Aquatic category.

The competition, now in its fourth year, is run alongside Destination Melbourne, with the primary purpose of promoting Bayside’s tourist attractions, shopping precincts, eateries and businesses. We call on local snappers to share their most ‘Insta-worthy’ shots in Bayside to go into the running to win more than $5,800 in prizes.

This year’s entries were judged by Channel 10 weatherman, Mike Larkin, Award-winning photographer Alan Moyle and Bayside Tourism Network member and Professor in Tourism at La Trobe University, Jess Derham.

The photos captured almost everything Bayside has to offer with over 1,200 diverse entries using the hashtag #springintobayside. To be eligible for a prize entries had to relate to one of the four categories: Wine and Dine, Beach and Aquatic, Nature and Animal Friends or Active and Lifestyle.

The major prize is a luxury Bayside getaway including a deluxe two-night stay at Brighton Bay Apartments, treatments at Endota Spa Brighton, passes for Brighton Baths Health Club,  Dinner at the Brighton Savoy and an exclusive tour of Bayside’s key locations with Melbourne Encountour.

Thank you to all those who entered this year’s competition and showcased some of the things that makes Bayside such a great municipality to live, shop and explore in.
