Have your say on three playground upgrades in Glen Alpine, Ruse and Eagle Vale

Council plans to upgrade three local playgrounds in Glen Alpine, Ruse and Eagle Vale and is calling on residents and families to have their say and share their ideas.

Playgrounds in Lack, Cook and Eagle Farm reserves will be upgraded in 2019 and community consultations with Council’s project teams will be held at each of the sites in December.

Council’s vision for play is to support and nurture children and family friendly communities through play.

Its play space strategy ‘The State of Play’ responds to this vision by ensuring that all families in Campbelltown have access to safe, accessible and quality playgrounds.

Mayor George Brticevic said he encouraged residents to come along to the community consultations to discuss the planned upgrades and share their ideas with the project teams in attendance.

“The community consultations are a great opportunity for residents to view our draft ideas, ask questions and offer suggestions so together we can plan better playgrounds for local families,’’ Cr Brticevic said.

The community’s feedback will help to shape the design of each playground upgrade.

“Research shows that play has a significant impact on children’s social, physical and mental development and it improves their quality of life,’’ Cr Brticevic said.

“It also offers families more opportunities for social interaction and builds community spirit and cohesion.’’
