One of the Dalby community’s favourite events, the lighting of the Christmas Tree, is bound to raise the holiday spirits in town.

Christmas Tree lights will be turned on at Myall 107 in Dalby on Tuesday 4 December by Western Downs Regional Council Mayor Paul McVeigh and everyone is invited to be a part of the fun.

There will be plenty of exciting and fun-filled activities for the whole family including ornament decorating, face painting and a barbecue.

Mayor Paul McVeigh said he encourages everyone to come along and get into the Christmas spirit.

“Christmas is that time of the year where we get to spend quality time with family and friends,” he said.

“We have made sure we are hosting the tree lighting at a family-friendly time which will work well for most people finishing work and school for the day.”

The Christmas Tree will be lit on the grassy area in front of Myall 107 on Drayton Street.

The activities will begin at 5.30pm and will finish at 7pm.

The Dalby Arts Council will then perform their Christmas Concert from 7.15pm at the Dalby Cinema.

Entry to the Christmas Concert will be $5.
