Residents will get into the Christmas spirit this year by coming together to enjoy the outdoor cinema.
Following the success of the Regional Movie Nights, five towns will host free regional Christmas Movie Nights in December.
Elf, starring Will Ferrell, will be shown in Bell, Brigalow, Condamine, Jandowae and Meandarra.
Western Downs Regional Council Spokesperson for Community and Cultural Development Councillor Kaye Maguire said the free community events will be a great evening.
“We hosted our Regional Movie Nights a few months ago and it was a great success with over 1000 people attending their local movie night,” she said.
“We are doing this again in five new locations to spread Christmas cheer across the Western Downs.
“There is no better way to enjoy the holiday season with family and friends than by rolling out a rug or setting up the camp chairs and watching a movie under the stars.”
Chinchilla local Tony Minnis was previously involved hosting a barbeque during the last Regional Movie Nights.
Mr Minnis said the initiative was very popular and residents were excited for the next film.
“I was at the movie in Chinchilla and there were people smiling on the way in and smiling on the way out,” he said.
“It is always good to be able to do things in the community.
“It’s a great event to be involved in and I am sure the Christmas sessions will be very popular.”
