Open Libraries customers and residents can help make a difference this Christmas by donating to Christmas Giving Trees set up at each of the library branches.
Fairfield City Open Libraries are embracing inclusion of new refugees and migrants this holiday period by hosting the Christmas Giving Trees.
Fairfield City Mayor Frank Carbone said the Christmas Giving Tree will give many new refugees and migrants settling in Fairfield City a memorable and meaningful Christmas.
Residents can leave messages of support and Christmas cards as well as donate new toys, canned food items or other gifts as donations.
“By participating in the Christmas Giving Tree you are contributing to making Christmas in Australia a positive experience for new refugees and migrants who have settled in the area during the past 12 months," Mayor Carbone said.
Fairfield City Council will work with community organisation Parents Café – Fairfield Inc to distribute the donations to families of new refugees and migrants attending their Christmas party on Monday 17 December.
The Christmas Giving Tree is available for donations at Bonnyrigg, Fairfield, Smithfield, Wetherill Park and Whitlam Libraries until 12 December 2018.
