The holiday season is upon us and we’re also taking a break to reflect, rejoice, recover and relax with friends and family.
All council offices, libraries and transaction centres will be closed from Saturday 22 December 2018 and reopen on Wednesday 2 January 2019.Shepton Quarry will be closed from 3.00pm on Friday 21 December 2018 and reopen at 6.30am on Monday 7 January 2018. Please contact the Quarry Manager on 0417 285 434 for urgent quarry supplies.
There are several people on-call for emergencies during the holidays, just call 1300 242 686 to reach our after-hours service.
Should we experience a major weather event, the place to go for road closure information is the Emergency Management Dashboard.
The dashboard is the one point of truth for all emergency and disaster information, including road closures and fires and electricity outages.
Council’s Facebook page will not be actively monitored during the Christmas break.
Roadside rubbish collection services will continue as normal. Emerald Transfer Station, Lochlees and Blackwater Landfills will be closed on Christmas Day. No alternate waste disposal will be provided.
Our aquatic centres have vastly different opening days and hours over the festive season. We recommend contacting the centre to check if they will be open for your visit.
