Media Release - New General Manager

The Mayor of Carrathool Shire Council, Councillor Peter Laird, has announced that Council has appointed a new General Manager.  Mr Rick Warren was appointed at a Special meeting of Council held on 28th November 2018 and will take up the position after Christmas.  The Mayor said Mr Warren had been chosen from a strong field of 13 applicants.

The Mayor said Mr Warren would be coming to Carrathool Shire Council from Coonamble Shire Council, where he has been General Manager for 9 years. The Mayor said that Mr Warren had impressive Local Government experience and had served his career to date in rural areas.

Mr Warren said he is extremely pleased to be offered the opportunity to undertake the role within this community and has spent much of his working life in country areas by preference.

“From what I have seen the Carrathool Shire Council works well together which can only benefit the community and I hope that I can make a contribution to council that provides the necessary services across the shire. I am looking forward to taking up the role in January.”
