As part of the City’s Summer Series of free, family-friendly, smoke-free and alcohol-free events, residents can come along and celebrate the spirit of Christmas from 5pm–9pm.
The event will feature a Christmas Street Parade, the turning on of the City’s Christmas lights, free children’s activities, fun roaming entertainment, community stalls selling handmade items, and food vendors.
The first-ever Christmas Street Parade will begin at 5.30pm at the Village Green and will also include a visit from Santa in his sleigh.
City of Rockingham Mayor Barry Sammels encouraged residents to come down to the Christmas Lights Festival and join in the festive cheer.
"The Rockingham Christmas Lights Festival is a great way to herald in the festive season and it is always a real thrill to turn on the Christmas lights," Mayor Sammels said.
"There will be range of food, entertainment and activities available, and if you are lucky you might even be able to catch a glimpse of Santa in his sleigh during the first-ever Christmas Street Parade beginning at the Village Green and winding down Flinders Lane to the carpark."
The Rockingham Beach Foreshore Revitalisation project will be in its summer shutdown phase, so come down a little early, check out the work that’s been done so far, and pop into any of the local food and beverage businesses.
