The Council resolved at its meeting on 14 November 2018, to make the Domestic Animal Management Plan 2017-2021 (the DAMP) pursuant of section 26 (2) of the Domestic Animal Act 1994.
The DAMP will come in to operation the day following the day on which notice of the making of the DAMP is published in the Victoria Government Gazette.
The Domestic Animal Management Plan 2017-2021 objectives are to provide a safe, harmonious environment by promoting responsible pet ownership to residents and the community throughout Benalla Rural City.
It focuses on key issues such as apparent control of dogs in public places (such as parks and streets), registration levels, education programs and enforcement.
