Friday Bairnsdale Outdoor Pool re-opening anticipated

East Gippsland Shire Council will re-open the Bairnsdale Outdoor Pool at 3pm today (Thursday, December 6).

And welcome news for residents wanting to cool off from today’s forecast top temperature of 33 degrees Celsius, the pool will be open until 7pm.

Tomorrow (Friday, December 7) the pool will be open from 6-8am for lap swimming and, with a forecast temperature of 38 degrees Celsius, will be open for recreation swimming for the extended hours of 10am-8pm.

The pool was closed after a burst pipe left electric motors in the plant room under water following Monday morning’s lap swimming session.

As a preventative measure, Council has ordered a spare motor for the Bairnsdale Outdoor Pool pumps to enable a quick response time in the event of a future fault.

Daily outdoor pool opening times for both the Bairnsdale and Orbost outdoor pools are posted on Council’s Facebook page @EastGippyShire.
