Temporary repairs have been carried out on the concrete beach access ramp immediately below the Point Lonsdale shopping strip, so that the ramp can be re-opened in time for the peak holiday season.

The safety bollards and webbing around the damaged access ramp have been removed.

Further works to re-lay the bluestone stonework at the base of the ramp are scheduled for 2019.

The access ramp was damaged during a recent sea swell in September 2018, which caused sections of the access ramp to crack and break.

The sea wall and associated infrastructure, including the access ramp, is managed by the State Government. Council will continue to work with the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) to progress the repair of the access ramp.
