Council is calling for community feedback to guide its next steps in the Hesse Street Revitalisation project.
People are invited to complete an online survey at www.placescore.org/queenscliff to tell Council about what they value and prioritise in their ideal town centre.
The survey will be open from Wednesday 5 December 2018 until 11:59pm on Monday 28 January 2019. It can also be completed at Council’s website, www.queenscliffe.vic.gov.au, and hard copies are available from Council’s offices at 50 Learmonth Street, Queenscliff, the Queenscliff Library at 54 Hesse Street, Queenscliff, and from Hesse Street businesses.
“In order to fully understand priorities in relation to Hesse Street, we need to refer to the people who use the street,” said Borough of Queenscliffe Chief Executive Officer, Mr Lenny Jenner.
“We have already conducted face to face place experience assessments with people in Hesse Street, along with a Stakeholder Workshop with Hesse Street traders.”
“This survey provides an opportunity for people in the wider community to have their say,” said Mr Jenner.
The survey has been prepared by independent research agency, Place Score, and will prompt people to identify and prioritise what they care about most in their ideal town centre. The responses will reflect the needs and values of people who work in, shop in and visit Hesse Street and guide Council’s next steps in the revitalisation project.
Ainsley Milton, Place Score Account Manager, said that the survey presents a fantastic opportunity for the people in the Borough of Queenscliffe community to have their voices heard.
“Our simple census-like survey will help the Borough to make informed decisions and prioritise future investment based on what the community really cares about,” said Ms Milton.
Place Score conducted face to face Place Experience (PX) Assessments along Hesse Street in November 2018 and plan to conduct further face to face assessments in the new year. The face to face assessments ask the respondents to rate how well Hesse Street is performing.
Hard copy surveys should be returned in person to Council’s offices at 50 Learmonth Street, Queenscliff or by mail to PO Box 93, Queenscliff 3225.
