The City of Wanneroo will offer Yanchep and Two Rocks residents City services at its ‘YTRAC’ office on Yanchep Beach Road, located above the Y.hub co-working space.
While the official launch of YTRAC (Yanchep Two Rocks Access Centre) will be held early next year, City of Wanneroo staff have already begun working from the new premises.
Planning and building surveying services are available at YTRAC, allowing local residents to submit applications or pose queries regarding development approvals in a face-to-face setting without having to drive to the Wanneroo Civic Centre. The City services will interact well with the activities provided by Yanchep Beach Joint Venture (YBJV) at the Y.hub.
YTRAC’s initial opening hours are Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8.30am to 4pm, or by appointment.
Parks and Conservation Services team members are also based out of YTRAC. The facility will allow for a range of other services such as Rangers to operate in the Yanchep area, maintaining City facilities and delivering localised projects.
City of Wanneroo Mayor Tracey Roberts, who will be holding regular ‘meet the Mayor’ meetings at the centre to hear from the community and discuss local issues, said it was important the City catered to the growing volume of new residents in Yanchep, Two Rocks and the surrounding areas, providing them with City services in a convenient location.
“From planning to youth services, we are committed to meeting the needs of the community,” Mayor Roberts said. “We also understand that people’s needs change depending on where they live.
“The City’s commitment to operating services from YTRAC is part of our place-based approach to meeting specific community needs, and this will continue to evolve over the coming months and years.”
The City will be liaising with the community ahead of YTRAC’s official launch early next year to gauge the interest and demand for City services that could be offered via the space. Residents will be encouraged to submit feedback via the City’s website during the consultation period.
