Communications and Social Media PolicyCouncil approved a new policy, which provides guidance to elected members and officers in the management of communications and social media in line with the Shire’s Code of Conduct principles. This policy recommends that the Code of Conduct principles of professional conduct, ethical responsibility, transparency and accountability be evident in the communications of elected members, officers and official communications of the local government.
Structure Plan Amendment – Dalyellup Beach Estate – Modification No. 14 – Lot 9105 Harewoods Road, DalyellupCouncil recommended to the Western Australian Planning Commission that the proposed Structure Plan Amendment for Lot 9105 Harewoods Road (Dalyellup Boulevard / Norton Promenade), Dalyellup be refused in accordance with clause 20 of the Deemed Provisions of Planning and Development (Local Planning Schemes) Regulations 2015 for the following reasons:
The proposed removal of the Tourism Precinct is not consistent with State Planning Policy SPP2.6 State Coastal Planning Policy, Planning Bulletin 83/2013 Planning for Tourism, State Tourism Planning Guidelines and the Greater Bunbury Strategy 2013; The proposal does not create a walkable neighbourhood and is therefore inconsistent with State Operational Policy Liveable Neighbourhoods; and It has not been demonstrated that the proposed residential properties are safe from the threat of bushfire and is therefore inconsistent with State Planning Policy SPP3.7 Planning in Bushfire Prone Areas. Programs of Works – Paths and Trails 2019/20 – 2025/26Council endorsed the Program of Works – Paths and Trails (2019 – 26); and allocated $456,720 in the Draft 2019/20 Budget for Paths and Trails Capital Works.
Jamieson Road Footbridge – Project Scope ReviewCouncil removed the project: ‘Jamieson Road Boardwalk – Stage 2. Ramp construction. Designed for prams and bikes’ from the Long Term Financial Plan, depicted in 2019/20 with an allocation of $250,000. It endorsed a new project: ‘Jamieson Road footbridge and boardwalk – repair, maintain and renew’ in the Long Term Financial Plan, assigned for 2019/20 with an allocation of $150,000.
Tender 18/04 Boyanup Recreation Facilities UpgradeCouncil accepted the tender from CEM Alliance Pty Ltd for $261,820 excluding GST as detailed in Tender No. 18/04 and the revised scope of works for the Boyanup Recreation Facilities Upgrade.
Tender 18/05 Reconstruction and Widening of portion of Elgin Road, ElginCouncil accepted the tender from Carbone Bros for $147,532.50 excluding GST as detailed in Tender No. 18/05 for the Reconstruction and Widening of portion of Elgin Road, Elgin.
Local Government Election 2019Council declared in accordance with section 4.20(4) of the Local Government Act 1995, the WA Electoral Commissioner to be responsible for the conduct of the October 2019 ordinary election together with any other elections or polls, which may also be required. It decided, in accordance with section 4.61(2) of the Local Government Act 1995 that the method of conducting the October 2019 election will be as a postal election.
