RFS Deputy Commissioner Robin Rogers, Mayor George Brticevic, Lynwood Park Brigade captain Mark Williams, NSW Emergency Services Minister Troy Grant and Camden State Liberal MP Chris Patterson.The Macarthur Rural Fire Service district has been delivered three new vehicles valued at $950,000 to support firefighting brigades across the region.
Lynwood Park Rural Fire Brigade were given the keys to its new $300,000 tanker at a special event held this week.
Mayor George Brticevic joined NSW Police and Emergency Services Minister Troy Grant MP, Rural Fire Service Deputy Commissioner Robin Rogers and State Member for Camden Chris Patterson MP to present the keys.
“These new appliances will boost our local brigades’ ability to defend the Macarthur community from bushfires at a time when we are advised of a potentially challenging season ahead,” Cr Brticevic said.
“The Lynwood Park Brigade’s new vehicle replaces a 2012 tanker and will boost their fire-fighting capabilities, enabling them to continue their great work of protecting our communities,” he said.
“The brigade has 35 dedicated operational and support members who not only serve the Campbelltown and wider Macarthur area, but lend their support during major fire events in other regions.
“I would like to thank everyone involved in our region’s RFS and wish them a safe and relaxed summer season,” he said.
