Holiday Fun at the Library!

The Christmas holidays are fast approaching and once again, Cessnock City Library has a great range of fun and programs on offer, with something for everyone!

The Summer Reading Club is once again in full swing read for your chance to win prizes, it is as easy as that! Come on in to register and find out how to get started.

These holidays we’ll be building amazing cubbies from newspaper, exploring coding with motion sensors and upcycling old t-shirts into funky tote bags. Our resident Grossologist will be investigating how our amazing bodies work and recreating food’s journey down our digestive system (making poo) and also delicious skin layer cake!

In the lead-up to Christmas, watch out for a special visitor from the North Pole at library Storytime and come along to our Christmas Craft sessions to make your own beautiful cards and decorations.

Cessnock City Mayor, Councillor Bob Pynsent is encouraging local parents, carers and children to get involved in activities in our libraries this school holidays.

“Our libraries are a fantastic place for children to learn a new skill, have fun and make new friends and there’s also plenty on offer for local parents too.”

For a full program of what’s happening at your library these holidays, drop into Cessnock or Kurri Kurri Library and pick up a flyer. It can also be downloaded it online at libraries.cessnock.nsw.gov.au, or check the event listings on the Cessnock City Library Facebook page.

Numbers are limited and bookings are essential. We have just made it easier by offering online bookings, so don’t miss out - come and find out what’s happening at your library over the holidays now!
