Residents, local sporting clubs and other users of Bosnjak Park will soon have improved facilities with Fairfield City Council upgrading the amenities building and irrigation system.
Council is investing $250,000 on the amenity building, which includes:
Replacing existing roof and installing insulation New doors, cupboards and other fittings New electrical wiring and energy saving lighting New ceramic tiling on walls and floors A referee change room toilet and an accessible toilet Construction of a permanent and secure storeroom for sporting clubs to store equipment to replace the existing temporary containers.A further $65,000 will be invested in upgrading the playing fields’ irrigation system.
Fairfield City Mayor Frank Carbone said Council has for the past four years been investing in the renewal of its amenity buildings.
“Council has budgeted to invest $21.3 million over the next four years to build and renew sporting amenity buildings,” Mayor Carbone said.
“Athletes and their families can now enjoy fresh new amenities at Bosnjak Oval in Edensor Park, thanks to work undertaken by Fairfield City Council.
“We want to help families get out and get active through casual and organised sports. By providing these new amenities we are helping families and individuals get involved in local sports.
“We have 38 sporting fields used by local sporting clubs and they are where mums and dads take their children to play sport each week.
“In the last year alone we have upgraded facilities at Makepeace Oval in Fairfield, Rosford Reserve in Smithfield, Fairfield Baseball Park, St Johns Park sportsground and Knight Park in Yennora.”
