Friday, December 28, 2018 – Tuesday, January 1, 2019 The William Jolly Bridge will be seeing the new year in with a splash of colour as Kirra Jamison’s Loop (Mineral Blue 4) will be projected onto the William Jolly Bridge from 28 December 2018 - 1 January 2019. In Kirra Jamison’s colourful artworks, bold abstract forms loop and weave across the picture plane. Her images are not prescriptive instead they are open to interpretation, and offer the viewer many different possibilities. Jamison’s looping abstract forms are a symbol for the cyclical nature of time and a lively celebration of the new year to come. Kirra Jamison graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Art with Honours from Queensland College of Art in 2006. She completed postgraduate study at the California Institute of the Arts as a recipient of the Anne and Gordon Samstag International Visual Arts Scholarship, and has also been awarded the Yen Young Australian Artist Award and a New Work Grant from the Australia Council for the Arts.
