Join in the summer school holiday fun 2018/19

From swimming lessons and dance classes, to nature workshops and physical theatre performance, there’s something going on for all ages during the spring school break.

Activities and games at Kyneton Toyota Sports & Aquatic Centre (KTSAC)

This popular program for primary school aged children will run for three days during the school holidays, from 10am–3pm on Tuesday 8, Thursday 17 and Tuesday 22 January. 

The day will consist of:

10am–12pm: stadium activities including sports, craft and games. 12pm–1pm: lunch (to be provided by participant) 1pm–3pm: pool activities including inflatable and games.

Bring clothes suitable for stadium activities, bathers and a towel, lunch and snacks, and a drink bottle.

Cost: first child $40, second child $37.50 and third child $35 (discounted rate for siblings only). Bookings are essential by calling the centre on (03) 5421 1477.

Pool inflatable fun in Gisborne and Kyneton Gisborne Aquatic Centre

When: Monday 7 January to Friday 11 January, Monday 14 January to Friday 18 January and Monday 21 January to Friday 25 January. 

Time: 1pm–3pm

Cost: $5.10 per child (pool entry)

Kyneton Toyota Sports & Aquatic Centre

When: Monday, Wednesday and Fridays in January, beginning on Monday 7 January and ending on Friday 25 January.   

Time: 12.30pm–2.30pm

Cost: $5.10 per child (pool entry)

Intensive Learn to Swim program

Give your child the chance to improve their confidence in the water and build on their swimming skills during the school holidays by enrolling in an intensive Learn to Swim program in Kyneton and Gisborne.

These 30 minute classes are held from 9am–12pm over consecutive weekdays, and are suitable for children aged three years and over.

Kyneton Toyota Sports & Aquatic Centre

Classes will be held Monday 7 January–Friday 11 January (5 days), Monday 14–Friday 18 January (5 days) and Monday 21 January–Friday 25 January (5 days).

We are also offering a two day intensive in the afternoon for an hour on both days. These classes are aimed at further developing a child’s swimming and water safety skills.

Classes for the two day intensive will be held on Tuesday 8 and Thursday 10 January, Tuesday 15 and Thursday 17 January and Tuesday 22 and Thursday 24 January. 

Cost: $79.50 (5 days) or $63.60 (4 days and 2 days). Bookings are essential.

Australia Day fun at our outdoor pools 

As part of the annual Australia Day celebrations, Council's outdoor pools will offer free entry on Saturday 26 January.

Youth activities 

Council’s Youth Engage Program (YEP!) is offering a range of fun activities for teenagers during the January school holiday break. These include: 

Disco Barefoot Bowls, Wednesday 9 January, 5pm–7pm at the Woodend Bowling Club. Gold coin donation. Recommended for ages 12–25. Woodend Pool Party, Thursday 17 January, 12pm–3pm at the Woodend Outdoor Pool. $5 entry, and includes DJ, inflatable pool fun, games and barbecue. Suitable for all ages.  Open Mic / Jam Night, Friday 18 January, 6pm–8pm at Kyneton Youth Space. Gold coin donation, and includes barbecue dinner. Recommended for ages 12–25. Lancefield Pool Party, Thursday 24 January, 12pm–3pm at the Lancefield Outdoor Pool.$5 entry, and include DJ, inflatable pool fun, games, and barbecue. Suitable for all ages.

Dance program at Buffalo Sports Stadium 

Learn hip-hop, acro dance, singing and acting at our school holiday dance program at Buffalo Sports Stadium, Woodend.

Monday 21, Tuesday 22 and Wednesday 23 January, from 9am–12pm. Cost is $65 for three days. Recommended for ages 6–13 years.
