Animal Aid is providing free microchipping for dogs and cats at Coldstream this month.
The offer is valid for two pets per person, at Coldstream Animal Aid until Monday 31 December 2018.
Animal Aid’s animal collection service is funded by Yarra Ranges Council and both organisations work together to reunite owners with their lost pets.
Animal Aid CEO Mark Menze said the promotion was to celebrate Animal Aid opening a new Veterinary Clinic at Coldstream which has meant their welfare program could continue.
“With a larger facility, improved technologies we can now see more shelter animals and private patients every day,” Mr Menze said.
“Every day much loved pets arrive at Animal Aid. We can tell they have been well cared for and we know their family will be desperate to have them home. Yet they aren’t microchipped and the shelter team has no way to contact their family.
“With one simple procedure, pet owners can ensure that if their pet is lost, they will be notified quickly and their furry friend will be back in their arms in no time.”
If your pet is already microchipped, please check that your pet’s microchip details are up to date.
The revenue generated when the Yarra Ranges community uses Animal Aid’s services goes directly into feeding, caring, training, and ultimately rehoming the lost, surrendered and unwanted pets that come to our door.
Bookings are essential. Please call the Animal Aid veterinary team to secure your appointment, or if you have lost a pet on 9739 0500.
If you find a pet, contact Council on 1300 368 333 and we can arrange for it to be collected.
