The Skate Jam will be held at St Helens Park Skate Park on Thursday 20 December.Young skaters are invited to St Helens Park Skate Park to show off their flips and tricks and celebrate the end of the school year at Skate Jam next week.
Council will join with Totem Skating to host the event which is on the day after school finishes and includes a skating competition for young people under the age of 18.
If you can’t skate you won’t miss out because spectators are also welcome to come along, be part of the free fun and enjoy the start of the festive season.
“The Skate Jam is a great opportunity for school students to come together in a safe and fun environment, enjoy a range of free activities and celebrate the end of the school year,’’ said Mayor George Brticevic.
“The day will showcase the skateboarding and creative talents of our younger residents who make up a growing proportion of Campbelltown’s population,” Cr Brticevic said.
The event will include a free creative arts workshop, ‘Fake Board Design’ hosted by Airds skater and artist Josh Bell, working with young people to paint their own design on a skateboard.
A free lunch will be provided by Monster Rolls to everyone 6-18 years of age at the event.
Roads and Maritime Services in partnership with Totem Skating will be conducting a Helmet Exchange.
The event will be held 11am-2pm, Thursday 20 December at St Helens Park Skate Park, corner of Kellerman Drive and Appin Road, St Helens Park.
