Council farewells senior executive

Central Highlands Regional Council farewells a senior executive as General Manager Corporate Services Jason Bradshaw moves on to new and exciting challenges.

Mr Bradshaw said he thoroughly enjoyed his three years at Central Highlands Regional Council and the decision to move on, from what has become a workplace like ‘a second family’, was not easy.

‘I have formed many friendships here at council and in the Central Highlands,’ he said.

‘I see a huge potential for this council to continue to be a shining light for local government in Queensland in the future.’

Mr Bradshaw and his wife Lesa will be moving on to Somerset Regional Council in early 2019, where he will take on the role as Chief Executive Officer.

CEO Scott Mason said Mr Bradshaw will leave a very big set of shoes to fill.

‘Mr Bradshaw came to us with extensive experience in senior local government positions,’ he said.

‘His work has had a significant and positive impact on our council and he can take credit to leading council’s corporate service department to a better position than he found it in and leading council to a strong financial position.

‘He goes with best wishes from all of us here.’

Mayor Kerry Hayes said Mr Bradshaw’s experience, professional attitude and dedication to the region will be missed.

‘Mr Bradshaw not only brought his experience to the role but has also shown a great mentoring disposition,’ he said.

‘The legacy he leaves is more than capably exposed through those people who have worked under his leadership.’

Mayor Hayes said working in local government comes with an unwritten commitment to the wider community and good leaders leave the place in a better place than they found it in. He said Mr Bradshaw has certainly done that.

‘Thank you very much for the work you have done.’
