Sturt Park will be the place to be on New Year's Eve with Council planning a huge party and two fireworks displays.

The event begins at 5.30pm, with local musicians to take the stage from 6pm to provide a live soundtrack to the KFC Big Bash match between Adelaide Strikers and Sydney Thunder on the Shannon Electrics big screen.

For just $10 kids (5 years and over) will be able to test their strength and skill, with a tri-lane inflatable bungee run, laser tag, and a Mega Extreme obstacle course to be erected on the night.

Quality food and drinks will be available with Bells Milk Bar, Chalky's, and the Broken Hill Sea Scouts all catering for partygoers.

The evening in the park will draw to a close 9.15pm with a big fireworks display.

Those who can't make the party won't miss out however, with a smaller 'encore' fireworks display to be launched at midnight for those who are still out on the town.

Residents are advised that the New Year's Party will be an alcohol-free event. Locals are also encouraged to ensure their animals are safe and secure at 9.15pm and midnight during the fireworks displays.

Tickets granting access to the obstacle course, laser tag, and bungee run can be bought on the night, or purchased in advance online at http://bit.ly/2EgSSaE. Ticket holders will need to present their ticket to the event information booth in Sturt Park where they will receive their wristband to access the activities.
