Gain expert knowledge on how to improve your skills in finding a new job with an array of free job search workshops as part of Council's Job Search Program. Don't miss out, limited spots available!
The Job Search Program is a six-part workshop series offered by Campbelltown City Council in partnership with CEO of One. The program focuses on providing all participants with information around different aspects of the job search process and how they can improve their skills to successfully land a job.
The workshop series will cover topics such as:
How to write a resume & improving your resume writing skills, including a resume review by a qualified career coach Improving your interview skills through feedback provided during practice sessions Addressing the key criteria and questions correctly during the job selection process Creating a personalised career plan Finding jobs in the hidden job market and through social mediaPlaces are limited to a maximum of 18 participants per workshop, and has a minimum age requirement of 15 years and above.

Workshops Workshop One: Stand Out Resume Writing - 14 March 20195pm arrival for a 5.30pm start - 7.30pm
This workshop will cover all aspects of resume writing and the important factors to consider when writing a resume to stand out from the crowd! It will cover how to write your resume if you have no experience, a lot of experience or if you are returning back to the workforce.
You will leave the workshop knowing how to use key words on your resume, how to write a skills/ career overview section and you will know solutions to overcome common resume problems.
Workshop Two: Selection Criteria & Target Questions - 28 March 20195pm arrival for a 5.30pm start - 7.30pm
The workshop will cover the best way to tackle lengthy job applications which require you to address criteria and target questions. Save time by coming to this workshop and learn the most effective way to describe your experience to appeal to the employer.
You will learn the STAR technique and practice this in the workshop. You will leave feeling more confident with the knowledge and skills in addressing selection criteria and target questions effectively.
Workshop Three: Empowering Interview Skills - 16 April 20195pm arrival for a 5.30pm start - 7.30pm
The workshop will provide you with the best techniques to handle an interview like a pro. We will cover the best way to answer interview questions and how to handle your nerves to make sure you perform your best.
You will get to practice your interview skills in the workshop and will be sent home with templates to help you practice at home as well.
Workshop Four: Social Media Job Search - 30 April 20195pm arrival for a 5.30pm start - 7.30pm
Social media is exploding with jobs! Come along and learn the best way to apply for jobs via social media. We will cover your personal brand on social media and how this can impact your job search.
We will explore how you can find a job with Facebook and we will also cover LinkedIn and how this can help you make contacts and find jobs.
Workshop Five: Hidden Job Market - 16 May 20195pm arrival for a 5.30pm start - 7.30pm
More than 80% of jobs never get advertised! This workshop will break down the hidden job market. We will cover the various aspects of the hidden job market and defined strategies you can use to break into the market.
You will leave with a personalised action plan, with the next steps you need to make to find your next job in the hidden job market.
Workshop Six: My Career Plan - 30 May 20195pm arrival for a 5.30pm start - 7.30pm
This workshop will cover the various strategies you can use to find your next job. We will cover how you can find a job in the “open” and “hidden” job markets and also the steps you need to make for your next career move.
You will leave the workshop with a personalised career action plan so you know your next steps, and you will also have the chance to have your resume reviewed by a qualified career coach.
