Wollongong City Council is offering extra recycling services after Christmas to help with overflowing yellow bins.
“We know the community is behind recycling and that it can difficult to keep on top of it immediately after Christmas,” said Wollongong City Lord Mayor Councillor Gordon Bradbery AM.
“I’m sure residents will really appreciate the extra recycling services we are able to offer this year and I encourage people to make use of them so we minimise waste going to landfill over the holiday period.”
Whilst this is not a ‘Return and Earn’ refund service, recyclables such as paper, cardboard, glass and hard plastics will be able to be taken to the following locations:
27 December, 2018: Ocean Park carpark, Woonona 8am–12noon 27 December, 2018: Kully Bay carpark, Warrawong (opposite Jackson Ave and east of the Illawarra Yacht Club) 1pm–5pm 28 December, 2018: Beaton Park carpark (enter near tennis courts), Wollongong 8am-12 noonFor more information visit Council’s website, www.wollongong.nsw.gov.au or contact our Customer Service team on (02) 4227 7111.
