Festive cheer was in plentiful supply at Jarrahdale Oval last week for a special Christmas concert hosted by the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale.
Close to 300 residents gathered for the annual concert, which visited Jarrahdale after being staged in Mundijong and Byford in recent years.
Concert-goers were kept entertained by Joi Ride who performed Christmas classics and a number of cover songs.
A free sausage sizzle was cooked by Byford and Districts Rotary Club, while children also had the opportunity to have their photo taken with Santa.
Shire President Cr Michelle Rich said the concert helped bring the community together at Christmas.
“Christmas is a time of the year when people typically get out and about for these kind of events and it was fantastic to see such a strong turnout last week,” Cr Rich said.
“It was also great to see the level of buy in the concert has from different community groups. For example, last week we had members from several local bushfire brigades, Neighbourhood Watch volunteers, local police and many other groups, in addition to hundreds of members of the community.
“It was a great way to usher in the festive period and get into the Christmas spirit.”
